PLH PROTAGONIST IN MADRID
The devices of the Milanese brand led by Enrico Corelli are among the main actors of the interior created by the architect Raul Martins, one of the hundred greatest interior designers in Europe according to AD-Architectural Digest, for the 57th edition of House Décor on stage from April 7 to May 22 in the Spanish capital.
THE COLLABORATION
PLH, participates in Casa Décor 2022, the prestigious event dedicated to interior design organized from April 7 to May 22 in the building at Calle Goya 89 in Madrid. Casa Décor is a platform that, with a unique format, explores every year the latest trends and directions in interior design, design, and lifestyle. Each edition takes place in a different location: this time the chosen location is a prestigious 20s architecture in which about sixty spaces, for a total of 4.600 square meters, are made available, like a blank canvas, to the creativity of established and emerging designers.
Between first of all we must certainly mention Raúl Martins, who despite his young age was indicated by AD-Architectural Digest Spain among the one hundred most influential interior designers in Europe. On this occasion the Iberian professional, commissioned by ITA-Italian Trade Agency, was asked to design a hotel suite that focused on eco-sustainability, good design and high technology, using, as suppliers, exclusively companies with headquarters and production in Italy.
Martins explains “The inspiration came from the colors of the Mediterranean, from their earthy and marble textures, from their brightness. And from the feeling of calm and comfort that the landscapes of Southern Europe communicate. The decoration is therefore serene and relaxing, without trumpets, without excesses, with the prevalence of a taste that favours the natural and rich consistencies. We used large format slabs for the floor, latest generation switches (wireless and reprogrammable), fabrics full of nuances and unique pieces also for the bathroom. We tried to exploit every centimeter and to use recycled materials and furniture in order to give them a second life and a second home.
And, still on the subject of sustainability, for colors, paints and coatings we have oriented ourselves towards products that do not contain solvents or toxic dyes”.
To realize his project, Martins also asked for the contribution of PLH, entrusting them, among other things, with the study and supply of the electrical control plates – “I was looking for switches of design” – and the design and commissioning of the home automation system, built on KNX and DALI standards, serving the lighting system managed by VBO Madrid.
Why PLH?, we ask. “Well,” Martins replies, “because PLH is a 100% made in Italy brand, it enjoys great prestige and is based on a winning mix of technology, innovation, design, high quality, versatility and adaptability to the most varied situations. Exactly what we needed. PLH understood precisely the needs we had and, to respond to them, was able to adapt its lighting and home automation systems: the collection Skin, the electric control plate Make Up in white and round version with personalized laser engraving, the home automation system AIR.
Enrico Corelli also advised us to include some distinctive and iconic elements such as the multi-command system Neo Lighter with marble base, which will surely be a great eye-catcher due to its innovative and eye-catching design.
Besides, I already knew Enrico's qualities and his devices well because we had the opportunity to collaborate with full satisfaction in a previous residential project. I would say that the interior design for Casa Decorazioni has only strengthened our relationship".
