THE COLLABORATION

In the name of innovative communication Molteni&C | Dada, leading company in 'Made in Italy' design for domestic spaces of the Molteni Group, on the occasion of the presentation of the latest Collection, the showroom inside the Compound of Giussano gave life to the narrative project Molteni&C | Dada 2021, conceived by creative director Vincent Van Duysen and a tribute to two great protagonists of one of the most creative seasons of Italian architecture and design, two interpreters, in a parallel way but with autonomous languages, of the Modern Movement and the revolution of Rationalism: Ignazio Gardella and Carlo Scarpa.

The evocative space presents the new Collection, where the environments follow one another in a harmonious dialogue between architecture and design, through domestic spaces where the new designs intertwine with the most iconic pieces of furniture. To make the scene perfect, more alive and real, Molteni&C | Dada chose the electric control plates and related accessories by PLH.

Enrico Corelli, CEO of PLH, explains: “While preparing the set for the shooting, Molteni&C called me and asked me if I would be happy to provide our devices for this operation. And how could I say no? The idea of installing our plaques in such a prestigious setting and at the same time the challenge of dealing with the atmospheres and the aesthetic lesson of two architects of the caliber of Gardella and Scarpa, were truly irresistible. A great honor. So we met with them and, after carefully considering things, we agreed on the collections to install. Considering one of his thoughts that states “for an architecture of today to assume the (necessary) value of a link between past and future, it is necessary that there be in it the conscious 'presence of the past', in the perspective of the future”, for Gardella we oriented ourselves towards a MakeUp plate in solid brass with a delabré finish a bit between Rationalism and Post-déco created in partnership with De Castelli. For the “Scarpia” setting marked by shapes and shades of that almost mineral essentiality that made the Venetian architect famous and unique, we instead favored the momentum and rigor of the Slim collection in the Gun Metal color version”.
